Wild horses in Aveto Park are the legacy of domestic horses that worked in the valleys for many years. Since the last owner passed away some 20 years ago, they have remained in the wild, reproducing freely and adapting perfectly to the environment, which provides them with the necessary trophic, water and land resources to the point of allowing them to survive without any contact with humans.
The experience includes an easy and relaxing walk in the beautiful setting of Giacopiane Lake and the pastures in its surroundings, discovering the #rewild horse population of Aveto Park, the only one in Italy to live in the wild without any direct contact with humans.
Accompanied by the founder of the project, and experienced environmental guide, you will track the herds and observe their behavior in the wild, their families, and their newborns in the spring!
