Riviera International Film Festival

From 20/05/2021 to 30/05/2021 - Sestri Levante

The Riviera International Film Festival is ready to return. Throwing down the gauntlet to the pandemic and chronic uncertainty, the festival dedicated to emerging filmmakers proposes a fifth hybrid edition and ten days of events, from 20 to 30 May 2021.
The start of the event will be online, with the presentation of all the films and documentaries in competition on the platform.
The final, from 28 to 30 May, will instead feature live appointments in the now traditional setting of Sestri Levante.

"Revolution starts with a dream" is the slogan coined for the fifth edition of the RIFF, publicised through the official poster created by Dutch photographer, sculptor and artist Ron Mejier.

"We live in a time of great conflicts and social divisions, and RIFF wants to make the audience reflect on the human issues that belong to the new generations and on the conditions of our planet - says Festival President Stefano Gallini Durante - In RIFF, young and independent voices will always have a platform from which to spread their thoughts; as for the Environment section, which is becoming more and more relevant, the festival wants to remain positive and push an increasingly large and passionate audience to focus on constructive future visions, rather than on past mistakes".

Masterclasses will certainly be part of the programme, which will be revealed later. One of these will be held by Mokadelic, a musical group specialising in the composition of soundtracks, authors among others of the music for "Gomorra - La serie", "A.C.A.B." and the film "L'Immortale" by Marco D'Amore.
The other sure protagonist of this new edition of RIFF will be Andrea Costa, founder of the NGO Earth League International, who will chair the jury of the documentary section.

The Riviera International Film Festival is also organised thanks to Regione Liguria, the Municipality of Sestri Levante and Mediaterraneo Servizi.
