ASSEMBLY AND NEW COUCIL FOR THE PORTOFINO COAST CONSORTIUM

30/11/2021 -  ASSEMBLY AND NEW COUNCIL FOR THE PORTOFINO COAST CONSORTIUM.
The Assembly of the Consorzio Portofino Coast was organized on November 29 at the Grand Hotel Bristol Resort & Spa in Rapallo. A particularly important appointment this year because the members were called to elect the new Council that will remain in office for the three-year period 2022-2023-2024.
In alphabetical order the members of the new CD are: Cristina CARBONE, Gianfranco CASTAGNETTI, Claudio CERUTI, Gianluca FRISONE, Fabio MARCONE, Sergio MICHELINI, Nicolò MORI, Alessandro SAUDA, Mauro SIRI, Aldo WERDIN.
In the beautiful hall of the Bristol were present many of the Consortium's members, to whom, as every year, was presented a report of what has been developed during the year and were indicated the guidelines for the activity of the coming year.
Despite the complex period we are going through, the Consortium has recorded a significant growth in the number of members (+ 30% in 2021 compared to the previous year). In addition, the entry of many municipalities in the district has allowed the Consortium to count on the participation of most of the Administrations of the coastal strip, namely the municipalities of Moneglia, Sestri Levante, Lavagna, Chiavari, Zoagli and Camogli, in addition to the municipalities of Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure and Rapallo, already present among the founding members of the Consortium. The Assembly also accepted the application for the admission of another four new Members from 2022 (Grand Hotel Torre Fara, AD Catering, Ristorante Karalis and Hotel Mondial).
And it was also the presence of some Mayors and Councillors for Tourism of the territory that allowed to develop during the assembly an interesting discussion on some very topical issues, such as the use of PNRR resources, the promotion and prospects of local tourism development, digital growth, the enhancement of environmental heritage and the collaboration between public and private.
Ample space was given to the intense promotional activity carried out by the Consortium during the year with the participation in 24 promotional events that reached tour operators from all over the world and touched different market segments from leisure to MICE with particular attention to the new needs of demand such as experiential tourism, nature and environmental tourism, food and wine.
Particular importance was given to training. For several years now, the Consortium has been the protagonist of initiatives linked to promotion which involve many companies in the area. New projects will allow to give continuity to this important work. It also participates in the ITS, and strongly supports the idea that training is a fundamental factor of qualitative growth for tourism.
The President Alessandro Sauda underlines with satisfaction the atmosphere of great participation that characterized this meeting "These last two years have certainly not been easy for tourism and the concerns related to the pandemic are unfortunately not over. Despite this, Portofino Coast has worked hard on many fronts and carried out with conviction the founding values that distinguish it: quality, professionalism and passion for the territory. We are very satisfied with the new aggregations and we thank our Members, Partners and Sponsors who continue to support us".
